Beehive Fingerless Gloves

$7.50

These gorgeous gloves use super soft and lightweight Alpaca DK weight yarn, which allows for cozy warmth without the added bulk to allow for dexterity of hands in doing everyday tasks while staying warm! These gloves work up fast using Tunisian crochet in the round in Honeycomb stitch; the cuff and finishing stitches are done using regular crochet with a 4.25 mm hook. You should be familiar with working Tunisian crochet in the round and will need a 5 mm double ended Tunisian Crochet hook, or you may use two hooks and a cable.

These gloves are worked from the cuff upwards, in the round so there are no seams to sew. You will then finish off the edge and the thumbhole with a regular crochet hook.

I used Drops Puna 100% Alpaca yarn, but any DK Weight 100% Alpaca will work great! If using a blend of fibers (like wool or acrylic) please note these will not be as soft and squishy and will also be a bit more stiff. Because the design uses Honeycomb stitch, I used a neutral color for the Forward Pass, and a contrasting or variegated color for the Return Pass. Since this is worked in the round, you will need two separate balls of yarn regardless. You can certainly make them in a single color, but make sure you divide your skein into two balls before beginning. Using a variegated yarn for the return pass creates this wonderful stained glass effect! Additionally, these gloves can be reversible if you like the striped look on the inside. 2 pairs for the price of 1!
